Welcome Back: Janurary

Our beautiful auction project is finished. Both classes put a lot of hard work into completing our colorful auction project. We got to explore different art mediums in completing this project: such as paint, buttons and special charms. Each student got to choose materials for their own square and then Becky Gordon (John's mom) did a wonderful job of framing and displaying our art work. Thank you. Look for our project at the Cougar Ridge Auction this spring.
December 2010..
It has been a busy month with all the holiday projects, activities. We have been busy reading different versions of the gingerbread man and comparing them. We have also been working on special art projects this month. Surprise.

Welcome and butterflies have arrived.

Welcome to our classroom blog. The blog will contain information about what we are currently studying in class. Hope you enjoy reading and viewing pictures and other media about what we are learning about. Blogging is a new adventure for all of us, so we welcome your feedback in the form of comments and questions.

Our butterfly larva arrived about two weeks ago and we are eagerly waiting for butterflies to appear. We had the opportunity to observe the larva turn into caterpillars. Currently, we are very carefully observing as the caterpillars form delicate chrysalis. When I checked on the caterpillars today some of them were hanging from the cups in the shape of a J. Good sign. We will keep you updated as the life cycle of the butterfly continues in Room 2.

Enjoy the pictures and I hope you have a great week.
